another year older

Today, I turn twenty-five.

At the ripe age of two-five... I'm happy. I live in a cute, comfortable apartment with my hubby and our sweet Turby. I'm on the brink of full-time photographer and by brink I mean I'm hopeful. I have fantastic friends in my life, both near and far away from me. I'm an auntie to three of the cutest kids I know. I've seen my extended family more lately and I heart that. I'm obsessed with succulents and all things plants. I became a member of our church this year and feel like I've finally found where I'm supposed to be, I heart you B-Way. Jeff is still in the Army and so happened to have drill this weekend, making it the third year [with the exception of last year] that we've been apart for my birthday, but we are so blessed by a lot that has come from the Army. I work at Starbucks and enjoy my free coffee. I listen to a lot of Rend Collective Experiment,  Hillsong, Mumford & Sons, and Ingrid Michaelson. I'm reading the fourth Harry Potter book and LA Candy, because I'd like to hang on to my youth. I'm fully in love with my Jesus like always.

Twenty-five looks good to me.

Happy Birthday to my Jeffrey

This morning my sweet little noodle turned the big two-four. Yep, we're just babies...but I'm actually older than him so technically he's the baby ;)

This morning he opened his present from me which was a badmitten/volleyball combo pack from Target that we can't wait to use this summer at all of our BBQ's and trips to Lake Tahoe!

We enjoyed a yummy lunch at Chipotle followed by an afternoon visit from my parents. My pop went out and found Jeff his first drill bit set to go with his new drill so he was pretty thrilled for that...already drilling things that don't necessarily need to be drilled.

Next we'll be hitting up the golf range with Jeff's buddy, followed by dinner with his momma and some friends. We'll be ending the night with everyone at our place. So I'd say we've pieced together a pretty perfect day to celebrate the coolest dude and sweetest man around :)

Happy Birthday Jeffrey!

the first of june, my birthday!

I'm thankful for another blessed, healthy year. I'm happy to have Mr home with me on this birthday, for the first time in two years. I'm thankful for so many things these days. God has blessed me beyond what I deserve. Today, I feel happy, and full of life.

I don't think we have any major plans other than to enjoy our time together and eat a birthday cake pop from Sbux...of course :) So, do me a favor and celebrate today like it's your birthday....buy yourself a cake pop and eat it with me! Then it'll be like we're partying together, right? Happy day to you all, I'm either laying by the pool since we're experiencing some 90 degree weather, roaming the streets of old town, or just soaking up time with Mr.

Today shall be grand, of this I am sure.

I love birthdays!

and then Mr had a birthday

It's my lover's birthday today and I'm so excited to spend it with him for the first time in two years! We did birthday presents on his birthday eve because today will be filled with lots of other fun things and I just couldn't wait. This year I grabbed him a couple shirts from Target, his favorite movie I Love You Man, and a home-brewing kit. We'll be brewin our own beer, and Mr couldn't be more excited! He's talked about brewing for a little while now and even though our little apartment doesn't allow much room for it, I sacrificed some of my pretty space for a brewin bucket and some other "equipment" :) Good wife? I think so.

Happy Birthday Mr, I'm so glad we're finally able to spend this day together! I'll make it as special as I can, because you deserve it more than anyone I know. Thanks for all you do for me everyday..life with you back home is the coolest. Thank you for loving me the way you do.

In other news, we have a new family member.
Readers, meet Turbo.
He's every bit as fierce as this picture suggests.

My birthday!

In honor of my birthday
I'm posting a blog
for your viewing pleasure.

When I was a wee little gal
I used to beg my parents to let me open one gift early.
If you remember correctly,
brother and I are exactly 7 days (and a few yrs) apart.
So when his birthday rolled around each year,
naturally I too was ready for gifts.
I was usually given one small gift to hold me over
for 7 more days.
What a greedy little girl I was..
who else got presents on their SIBLING'S birthday?
Spoiled rotton.
This year I opened a present from the parental units on
my brother's birthday..like usual
which has resulted in a
present-less day of my birth.
Maybe I should learn some patience.

I guess some things never change.
Sigh..

Have a fabulous Wednesday and don't you forget
that every first of June is my birthday and in honor of my birthday
you should celebrate because life is good..so go have fun for me
because we'd be having all sorts of good fun
if we were together!

P.S. I could really care less about presents at my old age now
(unless your name is Mr and you're buying me a new camera lens ;))
..so please don't take me too seriously above

one birthday two birthday three birthday four

so...
it was my brother's birthday yesterday, let's all wish him a collective

Happy Birthday!

More importantly..mine is in exactly one week.
I accept presents all year though
so don't you worry..

[because I know you were.]

cake in a jar

Ever heard of cake in a jar?
You bake a cake, then smoosh it into a jar.

not really.

tricked you!

It's rather complicated actually.
Bake according to instructions on the box, except
bake at 400 instead of 350..375..whatev.
How did I ever find time to do this?
Wife of the year I tell ya!
Let's pretend this birthday care package wasn't
one month late.

[I really creeped myself out with that last picture but I digress....does that even make sense? I always thought I digress was a collegiate phrase and I'm pretty sure it works there....I digress]

It's really normal to have a photo shoot with cake
just so we're clear.

Festive, right?

I'll leave you with pictures from the party.

I assure you mr wears clothes from time to time
but in his defense..he does work out.
