Lake Tahoe

Pretty much every year my family takes a trip to either Lake Tahoe or Santa Cruz. I'm more of a beach person so Santa Cruz is my haven...but we have a pretty amazing family cabin in Tahoe that I can't complain about so I'm just as happy going there. We're going there SOON and I can hardly stand it. Time off from work and life is exactly what the doc ordered. And by doc, I mean me ;)

That's a picture of our private beach that we get to hang out on, there's also a community pool area with ping pong and lots of other outdoor games...I seriously can't wait. To see pics from our vaca here last year check out these posts!

Just for fun, here's some pictures from past family vacations we've enjoyed.

family vaca: day four | sand harbor

On our last day we drove over to Sand Harbor and enjoyed perfect weather. If you've never been there, it's a must see in Tahoe and you should make sure to go at some point. It's a small paradise! And now the photo dump..

family vaca: day three

It was pretty cold for most of our stay in Tahoe, but we were still able to have lots of fun playing games in doors and venturing to the deck when the winds died down. This trip happened back in June but the pictures were too pretty not to share!

After we walked from our cabin down to the beach we couldn't find my dad, thought maybe he walked back because it was so cold. But after a little scanning of the beach, we found him hiding down by the water wrapped in towels to keep warm...what a nerd :)

Morning lattes made my life complete on this trip. Morning cribbage and relaxing on the deck were also another regular activities before taking off to the beach.

family vaca: day two

Mid-day walks to the windy pier and evening lattes. I'm officially relaxed and hoping to finish Potter by the end of this trip, but with 11 people in the house..things get a little distracting ;)

Ribs..chicken..salad & watermelon for dinner, then I think we'll finish out the night with some more cribbage or a huge game of Catan. Either way, family vacationing is in full gear...decks of cards spread on all tables, empty soda cans everywhere, and a bowl of watermelon freshly cut, ready to be consumed. Here's to hoping that latte kicks in so I can enjoy some mountain star gazing tonight and sleep through the woodpecker next to our window tomorrow morning!

We're currently vacationing in one of our favorite spots, which means games, lounging, reading, sun, drinks, and lots of family fun! Since I currently have a cribbage game waiting for me at the kitchen table I'll let the pictures [with my new 5D Mark ii] do the talking! This was my first experiment with the camera..it's taken a little bit of getting used to but I'm definitely in love.
